Job Title: Infant Teacher

Position Summary

The Infant Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants (typically ages 6 weeks to 12/18 months). This role focuses on supporting each child’s emotional, physical, cognitive, and social development through responsive caregiving and developmentally appropriate practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, responsive care to meet each infant’s individual needs, including feeding, diapering, sleeping, and soothing
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with infants through consistent, nurturing interactions
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support developmental milestones
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment in accordance with licensing regulations
  • Closely supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being
  • Track and document daily activities, including feedings, diaper changes, naps, and developmental observations
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents/guardians about their child’s day and progress
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members and participate in team meetings
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to signs of developmental delays or health concerns

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA, associate’s, or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
  • Experience working with infants in a childcare setting preferred
  • Knowledge of infant development and developmentally appropriate practices
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to meet state licensing requirements (background check, health screening, etc.)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
