The security guard is responsible for securing the personnel, clients and premises, including enforcing and maintaining order in the center.

Part Time (20 hours) Some Weekends
M-F 4pm-10pm

The security guard is responsible for securing the personnel, clients and premises, including enforcing and maintaining order in the center.
Essential Functions
- Patrol center and grounds regularly to prevent and/or detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of center doors, windows and gates.
- Maintain a high visibility presence by circulating among visitors and participants.
- Investigate disturbances and/or alarms.
- Document any unusual occurrences (i.e. property and/or equipment damage, theft and injury).
- Warn persons of rule infractions or violations and evict violators when necessary.
- Contact authorities in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons (as directed by Recreational Director).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalency
- Experience working with diverse social, cultural, and economic groups, especially youth
- Previous work experience in security
- Good communication, negotiation and listening skills
- Aptitude for motivating people and working in diverse and challenging situations
- Completed security training course (Preferred)
- Strong knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols (Preferred)
- Bilingual in one or more of the following: Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Bengali and others, may be required depending on client needs (Preferred)
