This rewarding role allows you to educate and empower professionals, parents, and children on vital child abuse prevention topics, all while enjoying the flexibility of an academic year schedule with summers off.
The Prevention Education Specialist will deliver school and community-based presentations on various child abuse prevention topics for professionals who are mandated reporters, parents, and children of preschool through high school age who have special needs. In addition, the Prevention Education Specialist will attend community meetings and participate in community events to represent The Child Advocacy Center of Northeast Missouri when appropriate.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide agency approved presentations for children ranging from Early Childhood
through High School on various topics of sexual abuse prevention (SPED focused).
2. Provide agency approved presentations for parents on sexual abuse prevention (SPED focused).
3. Provide mandated reporter trainings for professionals who work with children (SPED focused).
4. Maintain contact with counselors or staff/administrators to schedule programs for
assigned schools.
5. Grade and import data collected from presentations.
6. Maintain data and statistics for reporting purposes.
7. Research and update to programs to ensure best practice.
8. Attend community meetings, as needed.
9. Serve as a representative of the agency.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education, criminal justice, social work, or human services field or 3-5 years of field experience. Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with children in a classroom setting.

Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
