English Language Arts/Reading Teacher
Position Title: TEACHER
Supervisor: Head of School
We are hiring a teacher for our inclusive, non-profit elementary/middle school with a STEAM-based, constructivist curriculum starting October 1, 2025. We offer a low student-teacher ratio and a creative, student-centered environment supported by board members, community engagement, and parents.
Candidates should have experience with various instructional strategies and knowledge of upper elementary and/or middle school curricula. Educators from traditional and non-traditional backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Review of applications begins immediately and continues until the position is filled.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Demonstrate knowledge in the subject matter for the assigned courses and communicate this information effectively.
· Develop unit plans that align with Common Core Standards.
· Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment that facilitates independent learning, collaboration, choice, and engages students through various instructional strategies.
· Assess student progress and utilize this information for planning, instruction, and differentiation.
· Integrate available technology and instructional media to improve the learning experiences of students.
· Exhibit proficiency in both written and oral communication.
· Provide responses that address children's developmental, social, and emotional needs.
· Foster a school environment characterized by mutual respect among parents, staff, and students.
· Assist with occasional support duties, participate in school functions and fundraisers, and collaborate with colleagues and school leadership in designing and implementing innovations within the school's overall program and mission.
· Design a student-centered classroom that is aesthetically pleasing and logically organized with materials, resources, and activities.
· Develop, create, and modify materials and lessons that encourage students to actively participate in their education.
CERTIFICATION:
· Bachelor’s or master’s degree required
· Valid School Texas Teaching Certificate
