Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision, ensuring all payments are processed correctly.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting them with product inquiries.
- Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance the shopping experience and increase sales.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area, ensuring a welcoming environment for customers.
- Assist in stocking shelves and merchandising products to ensure optimal presentation and availability.
- Conduct product demonstrations as needed to engage customers and promote new items.
- Supervise junior staff members when required, providing guidance on best practices in customer service and cashiering duties.
Skills
- Proficient in operating POS systems with a solid understanding of cashiering procedures.
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred.
- Strong cash handling skills with basic math proficiency for accurate transaction processing.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customer bases.
- Knowledge of retail math concepts for inventory management and sales tracking.
- Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
- Experience in stocking, merchandising, and maintaining product displays is advantageous.
