Audio / Tech Director

Reports to: The Worship Pastor
Roles
Oversee Audio, Stage & Lighting
• Lead the overall audio, stage, and lighting environment for weekend worship
• Coordinate with worship, video, and production teams to align technical and creative needs
• Set standards for mix quality, stage readiness, and lighting consistency across services
Audio Engineering & Mixing
• Serve as primary or lead audio engineer when needed for services and events
• Train and coach volunteer audio operators in mixing, gain staging, and troubleshooting
• Develop best practices for sound quality that can be replicated by the team
Equipment Maintenance
• Maintain and track all audio, stage, and lighting equipment (cables, mics, consoles, etc.)
• Coordinate repairs, replacements, and upgrades as needed
• Keep an organized inventory and ensure systems are reliable for weekly use
Oversee Building Audio Systems
• Ensure audio systems function properly in all ministry spaces
• Support other ministries with sound needs for events, rehearsals, and gatherings
• Standardize equipment & procedures where possible to reduce complexity and failure points
Livestream & Broadcast Audio
• Oversee audio quality for livestream and recorded services
• Work closely with video and media teams to ensure seamless integration
• Troubleshoot and improve broadcast audio clarity, balance, and reliability
Qualifications
• A committed follower of Jesus Christ marked by integrity and authenticity
• Agreement with The Chapel’s mission, values, and essential and distinctive beliefs
• Ability to develop volunteers and multiply ministry through others
• Audio leadership experience in a large church or comparable live-production environment
• Proficiency with digital mixing consoles and networked audio systems (e.g., Dante)
• Familiarity with DSP platforms such as Q-SYS (or similar systems)
• Experience integrating audio with livestream, video, and lighting systems
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent ministry experience)experience)
Regular Work Schedule: Mondays-Thursdays, Weekly evening rehearsals, Sunday mornings:
- 40-45 hours/week, 12 months)
