The Chamber is seeking a highly motivated Vice President of Advancement to lead a comprehensive multi-sector investment strategy that stewards existing corporate investors while attracting new investment from business, philanthropic and government sources.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Performance
- Lead daily execution of current investor engagement, sponsorship in investor portfolios, and retention strategies to meet or exceed campaign revenue goals.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the external fundraising consultant in support of a partner business unit, ensuring alignment with that team’s leadership on scope, deliverables, and timelines.
- Participate in and/or prepare for all external investor meetings.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and professional development to the Investor Relations team.
- Set clear performance expectations, accountability measures, and operational standards across the team.
- Collaborate and partner with senior leadership to refine investor engagement in alignment with the Chamber’s mission and revenue objectives.
Revenue Growth & Campaign Management
- Oversee all aspects of the current $6.2M Investor Relations campaign and direct support of the Directors leading the sponsorship campaign while developing and implementing a multi-year fundraising strategy to support comprehensive economic mobility strategy
- Maintain a personal portfolio of top-tier investors, managing high-stakes relationships, and securing six-figure commitments and multiyear commitments.
- Partner with the Director, Sponsorship & Events to ensure sponsorship of sales and fulfillment meet revenue and service targets.
- Use data-driven insights to assess performance, identify opportunities, and adjust strategies for maximum results.
Investor Engagement & Experience
- Ensure high-touch engagement, benefit fulfillment, and proactive communication for all top-tier investors.
- Help remodel a leadership table for high level investors at the $50,000 level
- Oversee alignment of investor engagement opportunities internally.
- Guide the development and approval of proposals, sponsorship packages, and investor reports.
Cross Departmental Alignment
- Serve as the primary bridge between the team and departments to ensure mutual awareness, fulfillment, and strategic coordination.
- Partner with the Director, Membership to align investor and membership strategies where appropriate.
Team Oversight & Growth Planning
- Cultivate and model a positive, collaborative team culture grounded in trust, respect, and shared accountability across the organization.
- Manage the staffing structure for the team to ensure continuity, capacity, and professional growth.
- Lead succession planning and skill development initiatives within the department.
Job Specifications & Requirements
- 10 years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising or advancement, with a track record spanning multiple investment sectors – including corporate partnerships, philanthropic foundations, and government or public sector funding. Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-source revenue campaigns.
- Demonstrated success securing six- and seven-figure investments from diverse source types – corporate sponsors, private foundations, and government funders as well as negotiating complex strategic partnerships and memoranda of understanding (MOUs).
- Proven commitment to fostering a positive, collaborative team culture.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams and high-level client portfolios.
- Established track record of partnering effectively across departments to advance shared organizational goals.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with senior executives and civic leaders.
- Ability to analyze performance metrics and drive data-informed decision-making.

Work Conditions
The Chamber operates in a hybrid work environment that allows for a flexible schedule while requiring employees to work in-person at least two days per week. Exceptions to this schedule may be made based on departmental needs. When on-site, work is performed in a professional, deadline-driven office setting with regular interaction with Chamber colleagues, members, and investors.
This role involves extended periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and speaking on the phone. The individual will also be required to attend Chamber-hosted or partner events and meetings outside of regular business hours and outside of Center City Philadelphia.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 annually, plus the opportunity to earn additional performance-based incentives for personal and team-based performance.
