Position: Substitute Teacher Assistant (Non-Instructional Paraprofessional)
Program: Jardine Academy
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma;
- Experience with students with disabilities and/or medical challenges
Work Hours: 8:30 - 3:00 Monday – Friday, as needed
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and able to assist in a two-person lift of a child and/or adult. Must be able to do frequent bending, kneeling and sitting. Must be able to stand for multiple hours at a time.
Overall Description:
- Assist the Classroom Teacher and other School Certified staff in the development and implementation of an individualized plan, designed to meet the cognitive, physical, social and personal needs of each student.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and safeguard each family/student’s right to privacy, respect and confidentiality.
- Provide continuous supervision to all assigned students at all times.
- Be a participating member of the Direct Service Team as needed.
- Assist Classroom Teacher as directed in maintaining accurate class records.
- Assist students in performing self-care activities.
- Perform additional related duties as requested by the Classroom Teacher, and/or Principal.
Pay Rate: $16.00/hour
