Position Overview
We are seeking two (2) Instructors to deliver training, workshops, and certification pathways for Peer Support Specialists who will serve in our crisis care setting. Instructors will design and deliver engaging adult-learning experiences, provide ongoing coaching to trainees, and help strengthen our behavioral health crisis workforce.
This is a hands-on training role ideal for an experienced facilitator passionate about recovery-oriented care, adult education, and supporting staff development.
One of the two roles requires fluency in both English and Spanish for current and future programming.

- 40-chair Psychiatric Emergency Department
- 16-bed Voluntary Crisis Stabilization Unit
- Integrated Withdrawal Management Program
- A welcoming walk-in environment for symptom stabilization and rapid connection to community resources
Position Overview
We are seeking two (2) Instructors to deliver training, workshops, and certification pathways for Peer Support Specialists who will serve in our crisis care setting. Instructors will design and deliver engaging adult-learning experiences, provide ongoing coaching to trainees, and help strengthen our behavioral health crisis workforce.

What You’ll Do
- Facilitate CCAR trainings, workshops, and certification programs
- Lead professional development for crisis center staff and Peer Support Specialists
- Deliver high-quality instruction using adult learning principles
- Support new employee onboarding and skill development
- Provide coaching, feedback, and mentorship to trainees
- Organize Instructor activities to meet program goals
- Develop training materials, schedules, and evaluation tools
- Track training participation, certifications, and competency progress
- Collaborate closely with clinical teams, workforce development, and leadership
- Utilize electronic platforms and virtual learning tools for instruction
- Travel to other facilities for meetings and training sessions as needed
- Work flexible hours to meet training and program needs
Required:
- Certified Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) Facilitator
- Minimum 1 year direct patient interaction (behavioral health, healthcare, recovery, peer support, or related)
- High school diploma or equivalent AND at least 5 years workforce experience
- Minimum 2 years instructional experience (training, teaching, facilitation, adult learning)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, online platforms, databases, and virtual training tools
- Strong communication, presentation, and engagement skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced behavioral health crisis environment
- Ability to travel between sites and attend occasional evening/weekend sessions
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Adult Learning & Development, Behavioral Health, or related field
- Experience delivering instruction to adult learners
- Epic experience (plus)
- One Instructor position must be fully bilingual in Spanish (spoken & written) for current/future programming.
