Job Details Description The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics LLC (CAO) is one of the nation’s largest Orthopaedics practices, owned and operated by physicians, with over 60 locations across Maryland, Northern Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Some of the focus areas needed are: • Outpatient Surgery • Inpatient Surgery • Provide comprehensive diagnoses and treatment of orthopaedic related conditions and injuries • Order and interpret results of diagnostic and imaging procedures • Trauma • In-office dispensing We take a patient-centered approach and are committed to the treatment of joint replacements with either conservative and/or surgical means. We strive to provide our patients with prompt, courteous, and caring services while providing the highest quality care possible. The Joint Replacement Surgeon examines, diagnoses, and treats diseases and injuries to the musculoskeletal system. Responsible for determining and prescribing courses of treatment for patients with injuries, disorders, or malformations and performed required surgery. Primary Responsibilities The incumbent may be asked to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically stated in this description. The duties and responsibilities of the position are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with the Mission, Core Values and Operating Principles of CAO. Diagnose, treat, or prescribe treatment using medical histories, physical examinations, x-rays and laboratory test results. Hospital and group call Perform surgeries within the scope of practice. Consults with inter-professional team on the care of patients. Prescribes medications, corrective devices, physical therapy, or surgery; sets fractures. Administers medications and local anesthesia. Actively pursues and participates in research activities as well as mentoring residents and other medical staff in research endeavors. Records all diagnoses, treatments, and prescriptions. Refers patients to other physicians or specialists for consultation in an inter-professional manner. Advises patients about treatments to prevent future problems. Ensures consistent compliance with all regulatory and CAO guidelines, policies, and procedures. Performs other duties assigned. Required Education and Experience • Licensed and board certified M.D. in Orthopaedic Surgery in assigned practice state(s). • Must have extensive training or experience in joints replacement. • BLS Certification required. • Fellowship training preferred. • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery • Must maintain CEU's in pertinent clinical practice according to licensure requirements. • Excellent knowledge of therapeutic and surgical treatments for the lower extremities • Experience and proficiency working with computers and electronic medical records. Competencies / Required Skills and Abilities • Strong Interpersonal Skills - Ability to develop relationships and collaborate in a decentralized organization. • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with a proven track record of results. • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well both with children and the elderly. • Empathy and patience when dealing with serious diseases. • Strong oral and written communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience. • Demonstrated knowledge of EMR systems. • Required to be proficient in Windows based office technologies (e.g., Word, Excel). • Able to work independently. • Exudes professionalism in presentation. • Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in the English language. Physical Demands • Must be able to sit for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds. • Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics when making necessary transfers and helping patients with exercises. • Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting. • Some heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout a standard work shift. • Adequate hearing to perform duties in person and over telephone. • Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity needed to operate a keyboard, medical equipment, fax machine, scanner, photocopier, and telephone. • Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone. • Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading materials from printed sources and computer screens. • Requires exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinical environment.

Salary : $285,000 - $350,000
