What are the responsibilities and job description for the 7D Driver position at The Center School?
Center School and Transportation Options have openings for 7D Drivers , providing specialized transportation services to special education students served by our schools- a great way to get experience in the education field!
Positions are per diem, Monday through Friday, up to 25 hours per week, but can lead to full time employment as an Interventionist with our private schools and school based programs. No weekend work!
7D DRIVER Position Responsibilities:
- Safely and courteously transports students and other staff members as assigned, utilizing the transportation environment as an extension of the classroom. Engages students in meaningful conversations and activities as appropriate. Most runs are early morning and late afternoon.
- Assists students in boarding and exiting the vehicle and assures safety restraints are utilized per state law.
- Drivers provide safe transportation of special education students to and from the educational setting, based on assigned or covering routes; assist students to safely enter and exit the vehicle as needed, often with the assistance of a trained Monitor; operate vehicle in accordance with all Federal and State traffic regulations; complete all required documentation and record keeping as required; perform regular vehicle safety checks.
