This is a full-time, on-site role located in Rochester, NY. As a Skill Builder, you will work directly with youth to facilitate skill development through educational and enrichment activities. Responsibilities include planning and conducting group sessions, fostering positive interactions among participants, maintaining documentation of sessions, and collaborating with other team members. You will ensure a supportive and engaging environment while promoting the growth and resiliency of youth.
- Experience in working with youth, mentoring, and facilitating group activities
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills
- Ability to develop lesson plans and execute skill-building exercises
- Conflict resolution, problem-solving, and de-escalation techniques
- Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping
- Flexibility, strong organizational abilities, and adaptability in dynamic environments
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, psychology, youth services, or a related field preferred
- Knowledge of community engagement and youth development practices is highly beneficial
