Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and execute diverse recreational activities, including arts and crafts, games, outings, and entertainment programs
- Develop and maintain relationships with community resources to provide a wide range of activities and services for residents
- Collaborate with rehabilitation staff to develop and implement therapeutic activities that support resident goals and outcomes
- Recruit and train volunteers to assist with activities programming
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities programs, making adjustments as needed
- Maintain accurate records of activity participation and outcomes
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in recreation therapy, gerontology, or a related field preferred
- experience in a long-term care setting; experience in activities direction or a related field a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances in a fast-paced environment
