Your Role in This Mission
As Youth Programs Advocate, you will:
- Develop and lead CHH’s youth programming, including GLADLY (LGBQ/T youth group), and Youth Leadership Corps (YLC)
- Support 1:1 counseling and CHH’s 24/7 hotline, medical advocacy, and web chat.
- Facilitate workshops and training for youth and youth-serving organizations on topics like healthy relationships, violence prevention, and social justice.
- Conduct outreach and build relationships with middle schools, high schools, and community organizations to expand youth engagement.
- Create culturally relevant curricula that reflect the lived experiences of BIPOC, LGBQ/T, immigrant, and underserved youth.
- Provide psychoeducation and advocacy for youth survivors, ensuring trauma-informed, identity-affirming support.
- Collaborate with Survivor Services to develop creative interventions for youth survivors.
- Provide monthly/quarterly data reports
- Expand outreach efforts through CHH’s Driving Hope – Mobile Healing Program to connect survivors with support in their communities
- Engage in training and continuous learning, becoming an internal trainer for new crisis counselors.
What We’re Looking For
- A dedicated youth advocate with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in social work, sociology, psychology, community organizing, or a related field.
- Experience working with youth—especially LGBQ/T youth, youth of color, immigrants, and survivors of trauma.
- A skilled facilitator with experience leading trainings, workshops, and community organizing efforts.
- A strong communicator who can build relationships with schools, community partners, and youth-serving organizations.
- Crisis intervention or survivor advocacy experience (or willingness to complete training).
- A bilingual and bicultural candidate is highly preferred!
- Commitment to social justice, racial equity, and youth empowerment.
