Infant/ Toddler Teacher
Supervisor: Executive Director
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Teach children aged birth – 3 years old in an Infant/ classroom. 8 children are enrolled in the program. There are two teachers assigned to the classroom. Teachers are responsible for creating and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with the PA Early Learning Standards. Teachers are also responsible with data collection on learning goals and assessments for each child.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education with experience teaching infants and toddlers..
Experience: One-year experience teaching infants and toddlers is preferred.
Other: requires a valid Driver’s License
JOB SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Establish, maintain, and implement standards of classroom management that support instruction.
Write and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that reflect PA Early Learning Standards and address the individual learning needs of each child.
Perform assessments and write reports in accordance with Head Start regulations.
Attend CDD trainings and in-service days as assigned.
Understand child development for birth to 3 and implement appropriate behavioral strategies to support social/emotional/cognitive/physical development.
Ensure that all plans, progress notes, and other required paperwork meet Head Start standards.
Perform duties in a professional manner in response to students/families, co-workers, and situations in which your own values are challenged.
