Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to aseptic techniques.
- Take and arrange digital dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate patient records and medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage patient appointments and assist with front desk duties as needed, including dental receptionist tasks.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Conduct vital signs checks and assist with medical imaging when necessary.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix Ascend for patient management and record keeping.
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures by providing compassionate care to younger patients.
- Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in dental technology such as 3D scanners (iTero), EZRay, CBCT, etc.
Skills
- Proficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Knowledge of general dentistry practices, including Invisalign, Zoom
- Familiarity with dental coding, records management, and documentation processes.
- Experience in infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a dental clinic environment while demonstrating excellent organizational skills.
- Previous experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus but not required.
