Position Overview:
The Phlebotomy Tech plays a crucial role in conducting and overseeing diagnostic laboratory testing within the Fort Worth Magnolia Core lab. This position ensures the accuracy of testing, proper maintenance of equipment, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures on patient samples, including manual differentials (abnormal and normal). Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
Conduct routine quality control and calibration of laboratory equipment, ensuring accurate test results and compliance with maintenance schedules.
Maintain laboratory instruments, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
Process and analyze specimens, interpret results, and report findings in a timely manner to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
Review, update, and adhere to SOPs to ensure laboratory practices meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Monitor inventory and order supplies to maintain adequate stock levels for uninterrupted laboratory operations.
Participate in quality assurance programs, including proficiency testing, quality control evaluations, and documentation of laboratory activities.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver accurate diagnostic information and contribute to patient care plans.
Qualifications:
Phlebotomy certification required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting, with expertise in oncology preferred.
Proficiency in laboratory techniques. Competency in performing venipuncture and capillary techniques.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
