Job Title: Receptionist
Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a responsible and dependable Receptionist to work with our Pretrial Services Department. As a Receptionist, you will be responsible for greeting and providing a pleasant experience to all who enter our Harlem Pretrial Office. The duties and responsibilities of the receptionist will require someone who is empathetic, a great communicator and extremely organized. They will support our Supervised Release Program participants and staff by ensuring efficient coverage at our front desk and additional duties to contribute to the success of our program.
Salary: The salary for the Receptionist position is $44,290 per year.
Shift Hours: The Receptionist position is full time from Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.
Location Address: 424 East 147th Street 1st Floor, Bronx, NY 10455
Workplace Flexibility: The Receptionist position is an In-person position. S taff roles designated as fully in person are eligible for in- person work place differential pay.
What you will be doing:
- Greet clients and all visitors to the program and ascertain purpose of visit
- Answer and screens incoming calls in a professional manner while aiding and obtaining accurate information
- Monitor the waiting room to ensure the health and safety of clients and staff is maintained
- Provide administrative and clerical support to staff as instructed by Borough Director.
- Open, sort and distribute mail
- Provide triage support and direct assistance to program participants as needed
- May perform data entry for Court Programs into the database as needed, ensuring accuracy, as instructed by the Borough Director.
- Create organizational spreadsheets, charts, or other documents to help ensure efficient coverage across programs.
- Provide culturally competence services in accordance with CASES policies and procedures
- Any other duties as required by supervisory and executive staff
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Borough Director.
What we are looking for:
- High school diploma or GED/HSE or Associate’s degree with 2-3 years of work experience.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Respect for confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Highly proficient in word processing and spreadsheet applications (MS Word, Excel), experience with PowerPoint
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently
Additional, preferred skills we are looking for but are not required:
- Conflict management and de-escalation skills preferred
