Registered Dietician- Part Time

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Registered Dietitian to join our interdisciplinary team. The RD will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical nutrition therapy and nutritional care services to our residents and patients in a skilled nursing and post-acute setting. This role is crucial in optimizing health outcomes, supporting recovery, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough nutritional assessments, including MDS assessments, for new admissions and ongoing residents.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized medical nutrition therapy plans based on patient needs, diagnoses, and preferences.
- Monitor and document patient nutritional status, weight changes, and dietary intake.
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to residents, families, and staff as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutritional care into the overall care plan.
- Identify and address malnutrition, dysphagia, wound healing, and other nutrition-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., CMS, DOH) and facility policies.
- Participate in care conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, or related field.
- Current Registered Dietitian (RD) credential with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- Current state licensure/certification (if applicable).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian, preferably in a skilled nursing, long-term care, or acute care setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy principles, especially for the geriatric population and various disease states.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
