Position Summary
We are currently seeking a dependable and experienced Class A CDL Instructor to train students in manual transmission commercial vehicles. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, professional, patient, and enjoys helping others succeed.
Previous teaching experience is a plus but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Provide behind-the-wheel instruction in Class A manual transmission trucks.
- Teach pre-trip inspections, backing maneuvers, shifting, road driving, and safe vehicle operation.
- Prepare students for the Indiana CDL skills test.
- Monitor student progress and provide coaching and feedback.
- Complete required training documentation and attendance records.
- Maintain a safe and professional training environment.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Minimum 2 years of Class A commercial driving experience.
- Ability to operate and teach manual transmission commercial vehicles.
- Clean driving record.
- Current DOT Medical Card (or ability to obtain one).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, professional, and punctual.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Overtime opportunities available
- Saturday work available
Compensation & Benefits
- $21.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
