St. Joseph Catholic School is a diocesan school in the Catholic School System, Diocese of St. Petersburg. school is seeking an assistant principal for the 2026-2027 school year, with a start date of July 1, 2026. St. Joseph Catholic School is a beacon of Catholic education in West Tampa, providing a faith-filled education to lead students to their goals of College and Heaven by doing the right thing at the right time for the love of God. Currently, the school enrolls 280 students in grades PK through eighth grade.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must demonstrate an unwavering commitment to providing a Catholic education of the highest quality, ensuring that St. Joseph students continue to be on the path to College and Heaven. In addition, the candidate must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to lead the school into the future. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is helpful in this position. The candidate will report to the school principal.
Each candidate must:
- Be a practicing Catholic;
- Possess (or be eligible to receive) a State of Florida teaching certificate, including required graduate coursework in educational leadership;
- Have a minimum of seven years of experience teaching or experience leading in a school setting
- Pass Level II Fingerprinting and complete Safe Environment training and all necessary training per DOSP requirements
Responsibilities
The Assistant Principal will work with with the school principal, administrative team, school office, and student support staff to:
- Work collaborative with teachers, students, parents, and staff to improve outcomes for students;
- Coordinate day-to-day activities for teachers, students, and staff;
- Lead a faith-based instructional plan;
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders
