Role Overview
The General Manager (GM) is the senior leader responsible for overall performance—financial, operational, and cultural. You will oversee both Front and Back of House operations, lead staff development, manage budgets, and create an environment where guests feel welcome and teams feel empowered. You are equal parts strategist, coach, problem-solver, and hands-on leader.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Hire, train, schedule, and develop all FOH and BOH staff
- Foster a positive, professional, and team-first culture
- Conduct regular staff meetings, 1:1 check-ins, and performance evaluations
- Maintain high standards of hospitality, cleanliness, and service across all roles
Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth service, food quality, and guest satisfaction
- Monitor and manage labor, food, and beverage costs
- Enforce and elevate brand standards across the business
- Ensure compliance with all local health, safety, and alcohol service regulations
Financial Accountability
- Manage the restaurant’s budgeting, and weekly financial performance
- Approve vendor invoices and track inventory to ensure cost control
- Execute strategies to drive sales, increase profitability, and reduce waste
- Collaborate with ownership or regional management on financial goals and reporting
Guest Experience & Community Engagement
- Handle escalated guest concerns with professionalism and a service-first approach
- Lead by example during service—greeting guests, supporting the floor, and ensuring memorable visits
- Build community relationships and identify local opportunities for outreach or partnerships
- Monitor online reviews and feedback to inform service improvements
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in restaurant or hospitality management, preferably including FOH and BOH oversight
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proven track record of improving team performance, managing costs, and achieving revenue goals
- Deep understanding of restaurant systems (POS, scheduling, inventory, financial reporting)
- ServSafe, TIPS, or other certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Hands-on leadership style—willing to jump in wherever needed
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
