Position Summary:: The Carroll School seeks teaching candidates with a growth mindset and a true passion and commitment to lifelong learning. We are seeking candidates with experience and/or interest in teaching students with language-based learning differences and who are drawn to acquire the necessary competencies to successfully teach our type of learners. This position reports to the Lower School Tutoring Department Head and may provide individualized, pair and/or small group Orton-Gillingham instruction to students at the Carroll School. Responsibilities:

• Work with students in either one to one, pairs and/or small group tutorials teaching reading concepts and strategies using the Orton- Gillingham approach within the Carroll School language curriculum.
• Meet regularly with classroom teachers and Department Head to share information about each student’s acquisition of language skills and overall performance
• Research and select learning materials and books to facilitate tutoring; design individualized multi-sensory materials
• Administer curriculum based assessments designed to measure student progress
• Completes reports addressing progress and areas of concern as part of the trimester report writing system
• Attend regularly scheduled departmental meetings and all faculty meetings as needed
• Attend parent conferences three times a year or as needed
• Participate in child studies as needed
• Perform duties as required (ex: recess duties, library coverage, activity days)
