Assistant Food Warehouse Manager Status: 30 hours/week
Reports To: Food Warehouse Manager / Director of Operations
Job Summary: The Assistant Food Warehouse Manager supports the daily operations of our Food Warehouse and Resource Market. This hands-on role involves food sorting, stocking, inventory control, volunteer coordination, and facility upkeep. The position also assists with donation pickups, distribution programs (such as SacPac), and helps with clothing donations as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, stock, and organize food donations using FIFO methods
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
- Assist with food pickups and deliveries (includes driving and loading/unloading)
- Support special food programs, including monthly and seasonal distributions
- Help train and support volunteers
- Record inventory, temperatures, and basic facility maintenance tasks
- Assist with clothing donations when needed
- Operate warehouse equipment (pallet jack, forklift, etc.)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly and work in warehouse conditions
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well with volunteers and diverse community members
- Commitment to the mission of The Caring Place
- Warehouse or food distribution experience is a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Base Pay: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
