THE CAPTIVE ADVANTAGE
Risk & Loss Control ManagerRemote · 25% regional day travel with occasional overnights · Full-time, exempt
Reports to: Executive Director, Risk Management
We understand that confidentiality is important. We treat every application with complete discretion. We will never reach out to your current or former employer or share any information about your candidacy without your explicit permission.
We're the only known group captive program created exclusively for human and social service organizations.
Our Member agencies serve adults and youth with developmental disabilities, mental health and behavioral challenges, and individuals in recovery, across residential and community-based settings. When risk isn't managed well at these organizations, services get interrupted and the people who depend on them feel it first. Across our 18 Member organizations, we're the ones making sure that doesn't happen.
As Risk and Loss Control Manager, you will conduct risk assessments and loss-control reviews on site with Members, analyze loss data to spot trends and emerging exposures, and turn what you find into practical resources Members can put to work. You'll present those findings to our Members and TCA committees, and collaborate with members
to close the gaps you identify. You'll be a trusted advisor embedded in our Member agencies' risk management and loss control practices - a rare chance for your expertise to shape how these organizations operate and help set best-practice standards across the industry.
You'll report to the Executive Director, Risk Management and work alongside a leadership team you can reach in a single message or call.
The Captive Advantage (TCA) is a licensed captive insurance company built exclusively for human and social service organizations — one of the first of its kind in the country. Founded in 2009, we serve nonprofits working directly with families, children, and at-risk individuals, where the exposures are complex and conventional insurance rarely fits well.
Our Members are also our owners. That structure allows us to return savings through yearly dividend payouts rather than to outside shareholders. Since inception, our Members have realized over $30 million in premium savings and received nearly $16 million in dividends, money that goes straight back to them, supporting their mission.
