We are seeking a passionate, organized, and motivated Banquet Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team.
Position Summary
The Banquet Sous Chef is responsible for assisting in all aspects of banquet food production while ensuring exceptional quality, consistency, and presentation. This position works closely with the Executive Banquet Chef to execute weddings, golf outings, member events, corporate functions, and private celebrations ranging from intimate gatherings to events serving 250 guests.
This is an excellent opportunity for a chef looking to grow within a high-volume, fast-paced private club environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, preparing, and executing banquet menus
- Lead banquet kitchen operations during weddings and special events
- Supervise and mentor line cooks and banquet culinary staff
- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards
- Maintain consistency across multiple simultaneous events
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and food cost control
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed
- Work collaboratively with the Events Team, Front of House Managers, and Executive Chefs
- Assist with menu development and seasonal banquet offerings
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or strong banquet culinary leader
- High-volume banquet or hotel experience preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Passion for hospitality and producing exceptional food
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Culinary degree preferred but not required
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
