What Makes This Position Special? Under the supervision of the Dining Room Manager, the Dining Room Supervisor is responsible for acting in the host capacity while providing leadership and support to other service staff in the absence of the Dining Room Manager
What You’ll Do:
- Greets seats and presents menu to residents ensuring that workload is appropriately distributed including guest to server ratio and side jobs.
- Observes residents to respond to requests or resolve service issues that may arise.
- Assists in orientation and training of new staff, with monitoring and enforcing staff dress code standards, and providing direction and supervision to service staff on assigned shift.
- Inspects dining room for cleanliness, follows all opening and closing procedures, and communicates issues, resident or staff concerns to Dining Room Manager.
- Participates in set-up, service, and breakdown of special functions.
- Administrative duties include data entry of meal counts and sales during assigned shift, corrections to the time clock system, restocking supplies, and printing of menus.
The Skills You’ll Need: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, and six to twelve months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and training.
