Dog Handler/ Yard Supervisor

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Canine Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and handling, with a particular focus on dogs. This role involves working closely with canines to ensure their well-being, saftey, and overall happiness. A successful Canine Handler will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to provide exceptional customer service while managing the needs of both pets and their owners.

Duties

• Provide daily care for dogs, including feeding, baths, and exercising.
• Implement behavior techniques to promote good behavior and obedience.
• Monitor the health and well-being of each dog, reporting any concerns to management staff.
• Assist with animal restraint during examinations or procedures as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for all animals in your care.
• Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their dogs’ progress and behavior.
• Handle heavy lifting when moving supplies or larger dogs as necessary.
• Ensure all equipment and supplies are properly maintained and organized.

Skills

• Proficient in dog behavior management techniques and methods.
• Experience in veterinary settings, including roles such as veterinary technician or veterinary assistant.
• Strong dog handling skills with a focus on safety and comfort for the animals.
• Knowledge of pet grooming practices is a plus.
• Experience in pet sitting or kennel environments is beneficial.
• Ability to handle animals with care, demonstrating compassion and understanding of their needs.
• Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
