The Mobile Unit Coordinator is responsible for coordinating food distribution and delivery logistics for TCAH’s mobile pantry sites across Brooklyn and Queens. This role includes managing partner communication, creating tailored menus, ensuring accurate inventory tracking, and maintaining compliance with food safety standards. The incumbent will collect and report data on distributions and feedback from partners to improve service delivery. This position requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work on-site at both the Arverne and East New York Food Distribution Centers.

- Center Operations and Partner Communication:
- Oversee daytoday organization and operations at the Arverne Food Distribution Center, ensuring seamless functionality and support for partners.
- Serve as the main point of contact for partner sites, promptly communicating any urgent changes in food distribution schedules or logistics.
- Menu Planning and Inventory Coordination:
- Construct tailored menus for pickup and delivery partners, ensuring variety and nutritional balance.
- Collaborate with the Inventory Associate to ensure accurate tracking of food and household item stock, verifying that all items are logged and stored properly.
- Inventory and Food Safety Management:
- Implement FIFO (first in, first out) inventory practices to maintain food quality and reduce waste, tracking expirations and managing spoilage.
- Ensure all food is sorted, stored, and organized in safe, sanitary conditions, with each item placed in designated storage areas.
- Enforce TCAH’s food safety policies and procedures across all storage and distribution activities.
- Record Keeping and Reporting
- Keep thorough records of food distributed and families served by using the Customer SignIn sheets at each distribution.
- Collect Customer SignIn sheets from each partner location and submit them to the Admin Assistant for processing and recordkeeping (a nonnegotiable task).
- Track waste and expired items, reporting monthly metrics to support TCAH’s data on resource usage and effectiveness.
- Coordination with Dispatch and Logistics Teams:
- Work with the Dispatcher and Warehouse Supervisor to coordinate efficient delivery schedules, ensuring timely and accurate distribution to partner sites.
- Collect feedback from partners regarding items needed or preferred by clients, adjusting future distributions to better meet demand.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Demonstrate moderate computer skills, including basic navigation, internet use, and proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets for inventory and reporting purposes.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Experience in community outreach, logistics, or food distribution preferred.

- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work onsite at multiple locations.
