The Wellness Coordinator creates and develops a healthy, activity enriched lifestyle for residents, staff, and the community at large. This position supports the Optimal Living® philosophy and the seven dimensions of wellness (physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, social, environmental, and occupational).
The Wellness Coordinator is responsible for assisting in acquiring and maintaining outside memberships to Cambridge Fitness at Brier Creek. The Wellness Coordinator also performs a variety of clerical/administrative services and housekeeping duties (as assigned) to ensure the efficient operation of the facility. Supports and develops a healthy, activity enriched lifestyle for residents, staff and the community at large. Assists with the coordination and planning of fitness and wellness programs and activities for residents and staff. Examples include (but not limited to) exercise and personal training classes, health seminars and special events. Demonstrates a commitment to customer service, dedication to professionalism, organizational excellence and success through teamwork. Provides group exercise instruction according to prior training and needs of facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Leads group exercise classes for residents and outside community members as needed.
· Greet and assist residents with information, classes, and equipment.
· Answers the telephone in a professional manner; directs calls to appropriate individuals, and/or takes messages.
· Assists the wellness team in acquiring and retaining outside memberships.
· Appraises duties of the wellness attendants and reports findings to manager.
· Enters new members. Maintains POS information.
· Assists residents, family members and others with inquiries regarding classes and equipment.
· Enters maintenance issues and reports immediate concerns to the appropriate person.
· Receives inquiries from walk-ins and phone calls regarding information about the Cambridge.
· Complete 2 Step CPO (Certified Pool Operator) course (if applicable).
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
· Personal training or group exercise certification and/or experience required.
· Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
· Exceptional customer service skills and telephone etiquette.
· Gym or fitness club experience preferred.
· Sales and pre-sales experience preferred.
· Proficient in use of personal computer to include e-mail, internet and Microsoft Word.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT
Working in normal office environment, employee may be required to sit, bend, stoop, use keyboard, see, speak and hear. May occasionally lift objects of 10 to 45 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
