About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced attorney to help the firm with its growing base of Indiana clients. The person who fills this new role would primarily represent healthcare industry clients facing disciplinary action before the various boards at the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA), as well as the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH), Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA), and other regulatory bodies.
This attorney will be the first attorney fully dedicated to our growing Indiana practice and as such, will have the opportunity to take on entrepreneurial elements of the firm as we continue to build our practice. These opportunities may include legal research into novel questions presented by clients, providing guidance on licensing and credentialing applications in Indiana, hospital privileges disputes, assisting with DEA investigations, transactional work, and managing Office of Inspector General actions.
This new attorney will be a key member of the Callahan Law Firm and will receive mentorship, guidance and additional marketing resources to ensure success in our new territory. It’s a rare chance to get in at the ground level of a new firm territory, while having the resources, support and reputation of an established and well respected firm.
Prior experience with professional licensing matters is preferred. Criminal defense experience in Marion County, Indiana, is a bonus but not a priority.
Key Responsibilities:
● Health Care Licensing Defense: Represent healthcare professionals facing board investigations, complaints, and disciplinary actions.
● Client Advocacy: Provide compassionate, strategic, and zealous representation to clients during emotionally trying situations.
● Legal Research & Writing: Draft persuasive written statements, motions, briefs, and responses for various administrative regulatory bodies.
● Marketing & Client Recruiting: Represent The Callahan Law Firm in the State of Indiana and continue to grow our practice with annual client targets.
Qualifications:
● Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
● Bar Admission: Active member in good standing with the Indiana State Bar. Applicants with active licensure in additional states in the region are a bonus.
● Experience: 3 years of experience in handling administrative law, professional discipline, or healthcare law.
● Skills: Strong courtroom presence, investigatory and negotiation skills, meticulous attention to detail, the ability to learn to navigate new regulatory environments, curiosity and the drive to build a client base.

Pay: $88,500.00 - $125,000.00 per year
