Emergency Hire - Graphic Designer - University Housing

Job Summary

1. Create and execute graphic art and designs and devise new solutions to communication challenges.
2. Create original artwork, illustrations, and designs that are branded and support University Housing’s marketing objectives.
3. Execute specific design projects for Residential Student Experience, a partner in the division of Student Affairs.
4. Consult with others to understand the University Housing communication needs and goals and provide advice on the most effective techniques, media and materials to best meet needs.
5. Serves as liaison to vendors, consulting them on the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of design concepts, obtaining estimates, monitoring quality, trouble-shooting problems and staying on deadline.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in journalism, graphic design, communications, or a related field and one year of design experience.

Salary:

Anticipated Hiring Range:  $25.30 - $27.83 per hour

Classification Range:  $25.30 - $45.78 per hour

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Anticipated Hiring Range referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Classification Range may be broader than what the University anticipates paying for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).

Supplemental Information

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.
