What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guitar Teacher position at The California Conservatory of Music?
The California Conservatory of Music, which has been providing quality music education in Sunnyvale and Redwood City for over 15 years, is excited to announce the opening of our new Fremont location!
Our school is built on the belief that every student has great potential, which can be nurtured through a positive and motivational environment, consistent practice, and first-rate instruction. With a well-rounded curriculum, an experienced and supportive faculty, and a fun, engaging atmosphere, we’ve grown into a thriving community of 1,300 students across three campuses.
We are currently seeking experienced classical guitar teachers with warm, caring personalities to join our Fremont faculty. Our great office staff takes care of all administration, we supply the students with performance opportunities and practice challenges that keep them inspired, and we keep our teacher's schedules full!
Guitar students at CCM have won 1st prize in numerous competitions, including the Guitar Foundation of America Youth Junior, Youth Senior, and Ensemble competitions, the James Stroud competition, the Parkening Youth competition, The Boston Guitar Fest, and more. Several guitar students have also been featured on NPR's "From the Top" radio show as well as NPR's Tiny Desk Concert.
Qualifications:
1) Bachelor of Music degree in performance, theory, composition, or education.
2) Suzuki, ABRSM, or RCM certification is preferred.
3) Teaching experience working with younger students in private and group settings.
4) Live in the Bay Area with reliable transportation.
Responsibilities:
1) Hours include weekday afternoons and weekends (we are open seven days a week)
2) Teach weekly private lessons.
3) Prepare students for exams, recitals, and numerous performance opportunities throughout the year.
Salary : $48 - $50
