Nanny

A warm and active family on the Upper West Side of New York City is seeking a full-time, Monday-Friday nanny to care for their two children, ages 4.5 and 1.5. The family is looking for a self-reliant and highly engaged nanny. The role requires childcare, light cooking for the children, coordination of activities, and flexibility for occasional late evenings, overnights, and summer travel to the Hamptons.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for two boys (primary care for the 1.5-year-old).
• Prepare daily meals and snacks for the children; ability to follow simple recipes.
• Coordinate and schedule activities, playdates, and outings.
• Take the children outside daily: parks, playgrounds, neighborhood walks, etc.
• Maintain a safe, engaging, and structured environment.
• Handle afternoon care for the older child when he returns from school.
• Support bedtime routines when parents are unavailable.
• Stay overnight in the home during occasional parent travel.
• Travel with the family to the Hamptons during the summer (2-4 weeks).
• Maintain open communication with parents about daily schedules and needs.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for toddlers and preschool-aged children.
• Self-reliant with strong judgment and ability to take initiative.
• Calm, grounded personality with quiet confidence.
• Fully present and attentive, no excessive phone use or distractions.
• Ability to cook simple meals for the children.
• Comfortable coordinating playdates and scheduling activities.
• Professional references demonstrating reliability and discretion.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (up to 50 hours/week). Flexibility required for: Evenings (1–2 nights per week as needed), Occasional overnights, Summer travel to the Hamptons, No weekend coverage required.

Salary: $30–$35 per hour, depending on experience.
