Located in northern New Jersey, the school partners with local school districts, therapists, and counselors to serve students from nine counties.
Role Description
This is an opportunity for a Long Term Substitute for a Special Education Science Teacher to cover a Paternity Leave, based in Whippany, NJ. The teacher will design and deliver engaging science lessons tailored to the requirements of students with diverse learning needs. Responsibilities include developing individualized education programs (IEPs), implementing classroom management strategies, adapting teaching methods, assessing student progress, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and parents.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in designing and delivering engaging science curriculum to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- New Jersey Teaching Certification in Special Education or related endorsement
- Experience with students with disabilities, including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders, is preferred
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to empowering students with special needs
