Location: Weatherford, Texas
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-time or Part-time; M-F, must be available to work later on Thursdays and Fridays when needed
The C. D. Hartnett Company is seeking an organized, dependable individual to take ownership of warehouse slotting and space-utilization projects.
This position will be responsible for ensuring that new and existing products are placed in the most efficient warehouse locations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working throughout the warehouse, coordinating with multiple departments, solving space-related problems, and following projects through to completion.
Responsibilities
Assign warehouse slots for new items on the same day they are received.
Work with buyers to understand which new items are arriving each week and prepare space in advance.
Relocate existing items based on product dimensions, maximum inventory levels, and picking efficiency.
Review current slot locations and identify products that should be moved to more appropriate locations.
Create new slots and recommend new shelving or storage locations when needed.
Identify and use available warehouse space as efficiently as possible.
Evaluate how slotting and layout changes will affect order picking and overall warehouse operations.
Renumber slots and adjust shelf layouts as needed, such as increasing the number of slots on a shelf.
Coordinate with warehouse employees and lift operators when products, shelving, or pallets need to be moved.
Complete most major item moves on Thursdays and Fridays and work later when necessary to finish the project.
Provide a weekly report summarizing completed work, current projects, problems encountered, and priorities for the following week.
Qualifications
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to understand product dimensions, inventory levels, and warehouse layouts.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects.
Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate with buyers, supervisors, warehouse employees, and management.
Willingness to work throughout all areas of the warehouse.
Basic computer and reporting skills.
Previous warehouse, inventory-control, stocking, receiving, or order-selection experience is preferred.
Stand-up reach-lift experience is not required. Qualified lift operators will assist this position when products or shelving need to be moved.
This position may report directly to senior management during the warehouse slotting and space-optimization project.
