What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook position at The Butcher's Pantry & Restaurant?
The Butcher's Pantry & Restauant is seeking a passionate Cook/Butcher to join our team in Solon, OH. We are unique in that we have onsite butchering, a restaurant, as well as retail wine and beer, and a full liquor license/bar.
Additionally, 100% of our Profits are Donated to Charity, a Cause near and dear to our Owner, in honor, memory and legacy of his beautiful and amazing wife who passed too soon from our lives.
Overview
- Working side by side with our Chef who is a Graduate of the Culinary Institute of America (CIA)p, you'll help repare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new ideas
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently and safely
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations at all times
- Serve dishes to guests or assist serving staff during busy periods to ensure prompt delivery of orders
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure freshness throughout the cooking process
Skills
- Proven experience in a restaurant or food service environment, with strong kitchen skills and culinary knowledge
- Excellent knife skills for precise cutting, slicing, and dicing of ingredients (Butchering experience a Plus!)
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper sanitation practices within the food industry
- Ability to work efficiently during busy times while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with meal preparation, food handling, and catering operations is highly desirable
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and ensure smooth kitchen operations
