Job Description
Position Title: Client Account Specialist, Finance
Department: Insurance Fund
Reports to: Director of Insurance Operations
Salary: $21.98 to $24.73 per hour (non-exempt position)
The Business Council of New York State, Inc., Insurance Fund, is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented and problem solver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for report preparation and for maintaining professional client relationships concerning account billing status, accounts receivable (AR), and reconciliations.
Qualifications / Requirements:
· Minimum of High School Diploma (GED). Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field preferred.
· Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role (e.g. finance, accounting).
· Excellent communication and writing skills.
· Highly organized self-starter with strong project management abilities and attention to detail.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) at an intermediate or advanced level.
· Full-time position, (in office at least four days a week and one day per week remote).
· Demonstrated ability to uphold strict confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion.
Job Responsibilities:
· Review daily reports to identify and resolve discrepancies.
· Maintain relationships with members and assist members with various payment options.
· Assist members regarding questions on completion of their monthly invoices.
· Monitor member accounts and reports daily to ensure client payments are current; Identify and address overdue accounts.
· Process past due reminders and follow up with members to arrange payment.
· Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies through research and communication with members.
· Conduct weekly communication with delinquent members to resolve outstanding balances.
· Daily monitoring of lockbox reviewing each item and ensuring payments are accurately applied to the correct member account.
· Review invoice remittance for potential account changes and update client records to ensure accurate billing records.
· Collaborate with billing vendor to correct and reapply misapplied payments to the appropriate member account.
· Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
