Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their shopping experience
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process transactions quickly and efficiently
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed
• Assist customers with product inquiries, upselling additional items or services to enhance their purchase
• Conduct product demos when applicable, highlighting features and benefits to encourage sales
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area, restocking supplies as needed
• Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves and ensuring products are properly displayed
• Demonstrate phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or taking orders
• Engage in basic retail math calculations for transactions and inventory management
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth store operations and excellent customer experiences

Requirements

• Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse customers and team members
• Bilingual abilities are a plus, especially in serving a broader customer base
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math concepts
• Experience supervising or leading small teams is advantageous but not required; leadership skills are valued for growth opportunities
• Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift moderate loads as needed
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to handle inquiries professionally
• Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, stocking, and sales techniques is beneficial
