Job Title: Millwork Specialist

Reports to: Architectural Millwork Operations Manager

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Division: Greensboro, NC

Summary:

Carpenter who will be responsible for making custom millwork products according to quality and time standards. The projects will include timber products (corbels, gable truss), cabinetry, custom doors, etc. We operate a team atmosphere and are looking for individuals with a strong understanding of basic custom woodworking skills to join our team and continue to grow their skill set. 

Job Duties:

• Read and interpret shop drawings and architectural plans.
• Set up and operate woodworking machines such as table saws, jointers, planers, shapers, and sanders
• Assemble millwork components according to specification and quality standards.
• Inspect materials and final products to ensure accuracy and finish quality.
• Maintain tools and equipment and ensure a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
• Performs other duties, as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Strong understanding of woodworking materials, joinery techniques, and finishing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
• Must be able to read a tape measure
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
• Ability to transfer knowledge from one project to another project that involves the same techniques and processes. (i.e. cabinet doors to full door slabs)

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2 Years of experience in custom woodworking fabrication preferred 
• Experience in fabrication of one of the following is preferred – Cabinets, doors, shutters, timber products
• Experience with both hand tools and industrial woodworking machinery

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; outdoor weather conditions; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work in precarious places; extreme cold (non-weather); and extreme heat (non-weather).
