Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges with speed and precision
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and guiding them through product selections
- Manage cash handling responsibilities, including counting cash drawers, giving correct change, and balancing registers at shift end
- Assist with merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are properly faced
- Maintain phone etiquette when answering inquiries, ensuring clear and professional communication
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with stock replenishment to keep the store well-stocked and inviting
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store setting is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Basic math skills necessary for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Experience with POS systems or familiarity with retail technology enhances efficiency on the sales floor
- Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Hours
This position is for two days a week:
Saturday - 2:00PM - 10:30PM
Sunday - 2:00PM - 10:30PM
