Title: Janitorial Floor Tech Pay Rate: $11.00-$13.00Hours and Days: M-F 6am-2:30pmLocation: Various locations on the campus of High Point University Lifting Restrictions: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repetitively Experience Required: 1 year Responsibilities: Will include stripping and waxing of floors, buffing floors, using various types of floor care equipment, as well as any cleaning duties as assigned by the supervisor.Position Responsibilities:●Performs cleaning functions as assigned; properly operates cleaning equipment as designated.●Recognizes safety hazards and acts accordingly.●Operating buffers, super stripper, low speed, carpet extractors, and automatic scrubber to keep up with floor care in buildings.●Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.●Assists in the completion of the workload in the absence of others.●Assists in project cleaning of buildings which includes: lifting and removing furniture from rooms, refinishing hard surface floors, shampooing carpets, cleaning blinds, light fixtures/shields, washing walls, windows, doors, and furniture.●Reports any malfunctions and maintenance problems to the supervisor. Discusses work problems and/or schedule problems with the supervisor and/or management.●Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Position Qualifications/Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Physical Demands: The employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with arms and hands. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must lift / move up to 50pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
