Job Description
The Bryan Museum is seeking a dependable and professional Asset Protection Officer to support and ensure the safety and security of the museum's property, collections, staff, volunteers, and guests . This position is responsible for maintaining a secure, welcoming environment through proactive patrols, monitoring security systems, and responding appropriately to incidents. This position is ideal for an individual with strong situational awareness, sound judgment, and a commitment to maintaining a secure and welcoming environment. Candidates must be qualified to work in an armed capacity.
Responsibilities
- · Conduct routine foot patrols of the museum, grounds, galleries, and parking areas.
- · Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and building access to identify and respond to potential security concerns.
- · Respond promptly and appropriately to circumstances requiring attention, including but not limited to theft, vandalism, trespassing, medical incidents, embezzlement, property damage, fire, violence, and sabotage.
- · Prepare clear and accurate incident reports and communicate security concerns to museum leadership.
- · Provide exceptional customer service by assisting guests while maintaining a professional and visible security presence.
- · Opening and closing procedures and ensure the museum is properly secured.
- · Work collaboratively with other Asset Protection personnel, museum staff, and local emergency responders as needed.
Qualifications
- · Minimum of two years of experience in security, asset protection, civil law enforcement, military service, or a related field.
- · Qualified to work in an armed capacity.
- · Experience monitoring CCTV and electronic security systems.
- · High school diploma or equivalent.
- · Must be at least 21 years of age.
- · Strong observation, communication, and decision-making skills.
- · Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in emergency situations.
- · Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
Job Type: Part-Time/ hourly
Schedule: Approximately 20–28 hours per week; including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
Pay: $20–$25/hour, depending on experience and licensure.
