Position Overview:
The Unit Clerk will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks to support the warehouse and logistics team. This includes organizing inventory records, managing order documentation, assisting with shipments, and maintaining accurate reports. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Assist with organizing and tracking inventory levels, ensuring accuracy in product counts and locations within the warehouse.
- Order Processing: Review and prepare order documentation, ensuring that all items are correctly listed and processed in a timely manner.
- Shipping & Receiving: Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure that products are packaged and shipped according to customer specifications. Process incoming shipments and verify that they match orders.
- Data Entry: Accurately input data into the company’s order management and inventory systems, ensuring that records are up-to-date and accurate.
- Customer Support: Assist in addressing customer inquiries, ensuring prompt and accurate responses to issues related to orders, inventory, or shipments.
- Record Keeping: Maintain organized files and records for all transactions, shipments, and inventory logs to ensure easy access and retrieval.
- Communication: Collaborate with sales, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations and timely fulfillment of orders.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in business or related field preferred).
- Proven experience in clerical, administrative, or warehouse support roles, preferably within the wholesale or distribution industry.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with inventory management systems.
- Attention to detail and the ability to spot discrepancies in orders or records.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle deadlines effectively.
- Physical ability to lift and move products when needed (up to [weight limit, e.g., 25 lbs]).
