Tax Intern

The Intern, Tax Department is a temporary position responsible for service by performing research and analysis, general administrative tasks, daily clerical functions and coordinating/monitoring activities on specific projects to support the Tax Department. The assignment is approximately 90 days with flexibility to be part-time or full-time.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provides support in a variety of capacities, including tax research, analysis, and file maintenance;
• Assist with tax planning;
• Review tax returns, including personal income tax returns, business tax returns, gift tax returns, etc.;
• Tack down and research information about investment or business operations;
• Assist with tax audits by collecting documentation and formulating responses;
• Meet deadlines for completion of tax projects as assigned;
• Support other departments by assisting with administrative tasks as needed;
• Maintain confidentiality of all corporate and personnel matters;

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Current accounting or law student or recent graduate from an accounting program or law school
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and related software programs;
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
• Exceptional organizational skills required;
• Demonstrated ability to meet designated deadlines;
• Ability to work independently with minimal instruction;
• Ability to interface well with all departments within the company;
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, clients and visitors;
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm, focused, and positive while performing job duties.

Compensation

• Estimated Starting Hourly Wage: $25.00-26.00
• Exact starting pay is determined by merit; seniority; geographic location; education, training, and/or experience related to job duties and responsibilities
• FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Eligible for Overtime
