Role Description
Full-time position of 32-36 hours per week. The Operations Director will oversee Bridge operational functions, including finance and human resources. The director will lead budget preparation and serve on the Board Finance Committee. This director will work with the CEO, ensuring that the Employee Handbook and Policies are written and reviewed, and assist with all employee compensation and benefits plans and processes. Leads the Americorps Program, internships, and volunteer training and maintenance. Includes paid vacation and sick leave; health reimbursement account and simple IRA.
Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership (25%)
- Works with the Executive Director to oversee the day-to-day functions of the office, programs, and enterprises
- Ensures staff have what they need to perform tasks and carry out ministries
- Develops and reviews operational systems for efficiency and effectiveness
Finance (25%)
- Clearly communicates with the Executive Director and the finance committee on all financial matters
- Manages the organization’s financials in a professional and responsible manner
- Maintains financial data by calculating, posting, and verifying transactions
- Processes checks, administers petty cash, and reconciles bank statements
- Oversee budgets. File and ensure tax compliance, benefit plans, and processes. Work with the board treasurer to ensure the board stays updated on the current financial status.
Human Resources (25%)
- Manages the Americorp Program, handles program paperwork and communications, leads recruiting, training, and supervision of volunteers
- Develops and Maintains Community Volunteers who serve at The Bridge; constructs and evaluates systems and people; leads training of volunteers, maintains volunteer database, conducts volunteers’ background checks, and provides support for their experience while also keeping kids' safety at the forefront of all things
- Facilitates all new employee paperwork and annual staff HR needs; assists with weekly HR issues or concerns that may arise; maintains employee files with up-to-date trainings, benefits, background checks, and tax documentation
- Reviews the Employee Handbook regularly and brings attention to policies that need to be reviewed or revised by the CEO and board; Develops and maintains the Volunteer Handbook
- Alerts the CEO of HR concerns that need to be addressed
Communications: (15%)
- Post on social media
- Create quarterly newsletters for donation receipts
- Create posters or other visual media for events and programs
- Website updates and management
- Customer Relations Management
Youth Advocate/Engaged Team Member (10%)
- Assists with weekly youth programs as time allows
- Assists in various ministry areas as needs arise
Qualifications:
- Teachable and transparent with mentors and leadership
- Respectful of team members and willing to accept direction and correction as necessary
- Demonstrate attention to detail, ambition, initiative, organization, as well as strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Exhibit strong mathematical and organizational skills while working with programs such as QuickBooks and HR software
- Be flexible, autonomous, and driven, able to work individually and within a group
- Basic understanding of marketing and strong public communication skills
- Experience with website maintenance, such as through Shopify & GoDaddy
