Position Summary
The Part-Time Pantry Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of the pantry, working under the direction and supervision of the Pantry & Volunteer Coordinator. This position provides approximately 12 hours per week of coverage while the Pantry & Volunteer Coordinator is attending classes. The Pantry & Volunteer Coordinator will provide initial training and ongoing supervision, including reviewing the work and providing direction as needed.
Key Responsibilities
· Order food/items for weekly distributions. Calculate inventory, organize all incoming food/items and donations.
· Handle and lead monthly food drive donations.
· Ensure cleanliness of the pantry, food storage rooms and refrigerators and freezers.
· Lead and supervise volunteers in preparation of and during weekly distribution, alongside volunteer coordinator.
Qualifications
· Applicant must hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
· Ability to work well in team environment and independently
· Excellent organizational and math skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Comfortable with public speaking and praying out loud
· Basic computer skills (online ordering, etc.)
· Inventory experience is preferred but not required.
· Spanish fluency is a plus.
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12.0 per week
