Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our café team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, prepare high-quality coffee and food items, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food service, retail, and cash handling within a dynamic café setting. Previous barista experience and coffee knowledge are preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with attention to quality and presentation
- Operate POS systems such as TOAST POS
- Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and provide excellent customer service
- Handle cash transactions efficiently, ensuring proper cash handling and register accuracy
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and dining areas in accordance with food safety standards
- Assist with food preparation and serving of light food items as needed
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service
- Uphold food safety standards and proper food handling procedures at all times
- Restock supplies as necessary to ensure smooth operation during shifts
Skills
- Experience with POS systems
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and transaction accuracy
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques
- Previous experience as a barista or in the food industry is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail in order accuracy and cleanliness
Pay: $16.90 per hour
