Position Title: After School Supervisor
FLSA Classification: Nonexempt/Seasonal
Reports To: Director of Auxiliary Programs Community Partnerships
Position Purpose: Provide after-school supervision for 5th to 8th grade Middle School students.
Hours: M-F from 3:00pm to 6:00pm
The Brandeis School of San Francisco inspires students to lead lives of learning and purpose. We are seeking an Afterschool Supervisor for our 5th to 8th grade, after-school program. The position starts August 19 or 20th and continues through June 2027. Continued employment beyond the 26/27 school year is also a possibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Have fun and connect with kids!
- Provide supervision and guidance for students during our after-school program
- Along with the rest of the team, oversee free-play, computer usage for homework, and organized activities in indoor and outdoor spaces during after-school.
- Maintain school rules to ensure a safe environment.
- Attend meetings and trainings as required.
- Along with the rest of the team, perform general maintenance and cleaning for after-school program
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a valid high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be eligible to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Experience in a similar job with students ages 10-14, preferred.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and their families.
- Must be able to follow directions as well as take initiative.
- Demonstrated abilities to supervise and guide children ranging in age from 10 to 14 years old, preferred.
- Must enjoy spending time with tweens and teenagers.
- Must be responsible, calm, and assertive while supervising children, setting strong boundaries regarding their safety, wellbeing, and interactions with other students.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Regularly sit, talk, hear, and visually intercept visitors.
- Be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
- Regularly use close and distance vision.
- Turn, bend, and reach, and occasionally use a ladder.
- Work in a traditional climate-controlled office environment.
- Must pass a Tuberculosis Test
- Must have a Live Scan Fingerprinting test and clear a background check.
