About The Branches Outreach
The Branches Outreach is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving vulnerable individuals and families throughout Cape May County with dignity, compassion, and respect. Through food assistance, case management, advocacy, emergency support, and community partnerships, we work to reduce human suffering and provide hope to individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, food insecurity and crisis.
Position Summary
The Director of Development serves as the organization's lead fundraising professional and is responsible for growing philanthropic support, strengthening donor relationships, and expanding community partnerships. Working closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors, this position develops and implements strategies to increase sustainable revenue and advance the mission of The Branches Outreach.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement an annual fundraising strategy with measurable goals and outcomes.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, major donors, sponsors, and community partners.
- Lead annual giving campaigns, online fundraising initiatives, seasonal appeals, and donor engagement efforts.
- Identify new funding opportunities and revenue sources to support organizational growth.
Partnerships & Community Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with businesses, foundations, civic organizations, churches, and community leaders.
- Secure sponsorships, in-kind donations, and strategic partnerships.
- Represent The Branches Outreach at community events, networking opportunities, and public presentations.
Events & Communications
- Oversee fundraising events and donor engagement activities.
- Collaborate on donor communications, newsletters, annual reports, and impact storytelling that highlight organizational outcomes and community impact.
Development Operations & Leadership
- Maintain donor records and fundraising tracking systems.
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to advance fundraising priorities and donor cultivation efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in nonprofit management, communications, business, marketing, public administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, development, sales, business development, or relationship management.
- Demonstrated success in building relationships and generating revenue.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Experience with donor databases, CRM systems, and fundraising platforms preferred.
- Commitment to the mission and values of The Branches Outreach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Cape May County and the surrounding community.
- Experience working in a small or growing nonprofit organization.
- Experience securing major gifts, sponsorships, or foundation support.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $65,000–$85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and demonstrated fundraising success.
Performance-based incentives may be considered based on fundraising outcomes and organizational growth.
